Use the Custom Information CSV import to add or update country-specific HS codes for simple and variant products.

Steps:

Open the import

1. Go to Products.
2. Open the Import menu.
3. Select Custom Information.

4. Upload a CSV file.
5. Review the import result after processing.

The first row contains the column names. Each following row contains the values for one product.

Header Example:

sku,content_description,origin_country,tariff_code,tariff_code:GB,tariff_code:US

Data Row Example:

test_123,Testing product,CN,654321,987456123,9874554123 product_456,Cotton shirt,AU,123456,111222333,444555666

Sample CSV file:

item_custom_information_upload_sample.csv

Only include columns containing information you want to update. If this column is present and a cell is empty, the existing data is cleared.

Column descriptions

sku

The product SKU identifies the item to update.

• This column is required.
• The SKU must already exist.
• The product must be a simple or variant item.

content_description

The description used for international customs information.

• Maximum 40 characters.
• Letters, numbers, and spaces only.
• Do not use punctuation or special characters.

origin_country

The country where the product was manufactured or produced.

Use a two-letter ISO-2 country code.

Examples:

AU CN US

• Use a valid two-letter country code.
• Do not enter the full country name.
• Do not use a three-letter country code.

tariff_code

The product’s default HS code.

• Numbers only.
• Do not include spaces, letters, dots, or hyphens

tariff_code:<country code>

A country-specific HS code used when shipping to a particular destination.

Examples:

tariff_code:AU tariff_code:GB tariff_code:US

• The country suffix must be a valid ISO-2 code.
• HS code values must contain numbers only.
• You may include multiple country-specific columns.

Use the two-letter ISO-2 code in origin_country values and country-specific HS code headers such as tariff_code:AU
